Adam Smith
Adam Smith is a former Police Lieutenant with over 17 years combined experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Church Security Management.
Adam served as a firearms, defensive tactics, and intermediate force options instructor for his former Police department for over 5 years. He also served on his department's SWAT team, Competition Pistol Team, and as a Field Training Officer.
Through his experience in the field and as a Police Instructor of multiple disciplines, Adam felt driven to start Benaiah Training to teach and instruct people to effectively and lawfully defend themselves, their loved ones, and the institutions to which they belong.
Adam is a Christian, Husband, and Father.
Chad Edwards
Chad is a 28 plus years active duty law enforcement officer in Minnesota. Chad has served 26 years as a SWAT/ERU member. Chad has extensive experience in patrol operations along with prisoner transports, high-risk transports, high-risk warrant service/entries, and high-risk criminal
apprehensions.
Chad has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, criminal investigator, K-9 officer, school resource officer, court security/inmate transport supervisor, and full-time lethal/less-lethal trainer.
Chad has been a firearms instructor on all platforms since 2006. Chad has attended and been certified in firearms training through the FBI Firearms Instructor School, Alexandria Technical College, IALEFI Master Firearms Instructor School, Glock International Instructor Workshop, Mission Critical Concepts, 88 Tactical/Grey Group Instructor Certified, Minnesota Tactical Officers Association, and the USCCA.
Chad has been a use of force instructor on all platforms since 2006. Chad has attended and been certified in use of force training through Alexandria Technical College, Axon/Taser International, Defensive Technology, PPCT, Krav Maga Worldwide, Pepperball, ASP Baton and holds a rank of First-Degree Black Belt in the art of use of force for Law Enforcement.
Chad is also a military veteran who served 8 years in the US Army Reserves as a Military Police Officer. Chad was Honorably Discharged upon completion of service. Chad has a passion and high-energy for instructing and truly believes in “leaving the best part of him with others.”
Chad is a Christian and family man of faith.
